Accounting Manager

(Part-Time, On-Site in Hamburg)

As our Accounting Manager, you will take full ownership of Sporting Rock’s accounting landscape, driving accuracy and efficiency in all financial operations. You’ll keep our numbers clean, compliant, and organized — and work closely with leadership to support smart financial decisions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO?

  • Manage day-to-day financial accounting, including accounts payable/receivable and general ledger
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports, reconciliations, and financial summaries
  • Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and cost tracking
  • Oversee invoice processing, payments, and tracking of outstanding balances
  • Ensure compliance with German accounting standards and tax regulations
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors, payroll providers, and auditors
  • Support financial planning and provide support internal and office related processes
  • Work closely with our founders and management team on financial insights
  • Maintain clear, organized financial documentation
  • Communicate fluently in both German and English, internally and externally

WHAT YOU BRING?

  • Completed Bachelor’s studies in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • 5+ of experience in accounting, finance, or controlling, ideally in a tech or startup environment
  • Deep knowledge of German accounting principles (HGB) and regulatory requirements
  • Familiarity with accounting tools (e.g. DATEV, Lexware, or comparable software)
  • High attention to detail and a structured, proactive work style
  • Confidence handling numbers, spreadsheets, and financial documentation
  • Strong communication skills in German and English
